Ir. Mahathir Nor Bin Ismail – Chairman Of CIRED Malaysia
Ir. Mahathir Nor bin Ismail currently serves as the Senior Chief Network Officer (SCNO) of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), providing strategic leadership over the planning, development, and performance of the national grid and distribution networks.
With over 26 years of service in TNB, Ir. Mahathir has held 19 leadership and managerial positions across the organization, reflecting a career defined by depth, versatility, and sustained impact. His experience spans executive management, board governance, and subsidiary leadership across TNB’s diverse business portfolio.
He has previously served as Managing Director of TNB Energy Services (TNBES) and TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (TNEC), as well as Chairman of the Board of TNEC. In addition, he has held board positions in Integrax Berhad, TNB Retail Sdn. Bhd. (TRSB), and TNB Integrated Learning Solution Sdn. Bhd. (ILSAS), alongside directorship roles in more than ten TNB subsidiaries. These roles demonstrate his strong capability in balancing operational excellence, regulatory governance, and commercial performance.
Ir. Ahmad Sazree Bin Abdul Aziz – Deputy Chairman l
Over 26 years of service with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), with extensive experience across the Distribution Network, covering operations, maintenance, asset management, organizational transformation, and system reliability strategy. He is currently serving as Head (Operations), Distribution Network, responsible for national distribution network operations and maintenance. Concurrently, he is performing the duties of the Chief Distribution Network Officer (CDNO), overseeing the overall leadership, strategic direction, and governance of all departments within the Distribution Network. Throughout his career, he has held various senior leadership positions within TNB, including Managing Director of Tenaga Switchgear Sdn. Bhd., Head of Maintenance Strategic Business Unit, Senior Manager under the Distribution Transformation Program, as well as Area Manager and Principal Engineer roles across multiple states and zones.
He also plays an active role through his involvement with CIRED, where he serves as Deputy Chairman 1 of Pertubuhan CIRED Malaysia. In this capacity, he supports national and international engagement on electricity distribution best practices, grid modernization, asset management, and reliability improvement, while contributing to knowledge sharing, technical collaboration, and the advancement of Malaysia’s distribution network capabilities.

Ir. Mohamed Ghous Ahmad has over 34 years of experience with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). He has extensive experience across the Distribution Network and Customer Services(Retail Business) covering Distribution Network Planning, Project Management and Implementation, operations, maintenance, asset management, organizational transformation, Customer services and Retail Business.
